Why

In Uganda, access to affordable, high-quality education is a daily challenge for many families. Without a solid education and practical skills, young people often remain trapped in poverty and unemployment. Bulamu Schools was founded to provide inclusive, Christian-inspired education that combines academic knowledge with hands-on vocational training.

Impact


Mission & goals

Bulamu Schools’ mission is to provide child- and parent-centered education at affordable fees, helping Uganda’s young people grow into honest, skilled citizens. Its key goals are:

  • Holistic education: Teaching knowledge in line with the official curriculum of the Ministry of Education.
  • Vocational training and craftsmanship: Teaching students practical skills such as cutting and sewing, baking, cooking, metalwork and ICT.
  • Personal development: Encouraging leadership, creativity and cultural engagement through sports and the annual Culture Gala.
  • Equal opportunities: Providing an inspiring platform where young people can choose to continue on to university or start working in a trade straight away.
Actions
  • Nursery, Primary & Secondary School: Providing education from nursery school through to final exams (UNEB-accredited for PLE, UCE and UACE).
  • Organising practical workshops: Offering vocational modules such as catering, textiles and construction alongside the regular curriculum.
  • Vocational education pathway (DIT): Working with the Directorate of Industrial Training to award officially recognised vocational qualifications to students.
  • Boarding and day school: Providing a calm, safe learning environment, with accommodation for boarding students on campus.
